Polines Director Signs MoU, Kitano Foundation Increases Scholarship Allocation

SEMARANG – Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting student access to education by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kitano Foundation of Japan for scholarships, facilitated by PT Indonesia Stanley Electric. The signing took place at the Polines Directorate Building on Friday (June 12, 2026).

The signing was carried out by the Director of Polines Dr. Garup Lambang Goro, ST, MT, together with the representative of the Kitano Foundation Japan Mr. Funabashi, witnessed by the Director of PT Indonesia Stanley Electric Liono Suwanto, as well as staff from both institutions.

This collaboration is a form of synergy between vocational higher education institutions and the industrial world in supporting the improvement of human resource quality through a scholarship program for high-achieving students who need financial support for their education.

Polines Director Dr. Garup Lambang Goro, ST, MT, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Kitano Foundation and PT Indonesia Stanley Electric for the continued trust given to Polines through the scholarship program.

“"We express our gratitude for the support given to Polines students. This scholarship program is not only financial assistance, but also an investment in producing outstanding vocational graduates," he said.

According to him, collaboration between universities and industry is one of the keys to improving the quality of vocational education to align with the needs of the business and industrial worlds.

On that occasion, the representative of Kitano Foundation Japan, Mr. Funabashi, expressed his appreciation for the development of scholarship recipients from Polines.

As a demonstration of the Kitano Foundation's trust and commitment to Polines, it has decided to increase its scholarship allocation for Polines students. The total scholarship awarded was 1 million yen last year, but this coming year, it will increase to 1.5 million yen.

“"We see an increase in awareness and responsibility among Polines scholarship recipients. Therefore, we have decided to increase the scholarship support from 1 million yen to 1.5 million yen," he said.

The increase in the scholarship value is expected to provide greater benefits for students in meeting their educational needs while also being a motivation to continue to excel.

The Kitano Foundation scholarship program has become a form of ongoing collaboration aimed at assisting students with educational financing. This collaboration also strengthens the relationship between campuses and industry and opens up opportunities for broader collaboration in the future.
