SEMARANG – The librarians of Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) have once again achieved a proud achievement. One of them, M. Riski Destrianto, S.Hum., was appointed as a resource person at the "Working, Semarang Literacy Seminar" held at the Walisongo State Islamic University (UIN) library in Semarang on April 21, 2026.
At the seminar, Riski presented a presentation titled "Librarian Innovation in Strengthening Literacy." He emphasized that librarians play a strategic role not only as information managers but also as literacy advocates capable of providing creative solutions in the digital age.
One of the innovations introduced is the CekJurnal.id (CekJurnal) platform, an integrated application that provides information and a list of scientific journals. This platform is designed to support lecturers and students in their publication, research, and scientific development activities. Through CekJurnal, users can more easily find relevant and reliable journal references.
M. Riski Destrianto, S.Hum., explained that the application is expected to help improve the quality of scientific publications and strengthen the culture of academic literacy. "Librarians need to continue to innovate to meet increasingly complex information needs, especially in supporting research and publication activities," he said.
The seminar was interactive and enthusiastic, with participants including students, librarians, literacy activists, and representatives from the Semarang City chapter of the Indonesian Librarians Association (IPI). The discussion provided a platform for sharing knowledge and broadening perspectives on the role of librarians today.
Through this participation, it is hoped that the contribution of Polines librarians in developing literacy and innovation in the library sector will be further strengthened, as well as encouraging broader collaboration between institutions.
