RADAR KUDUS – The enthusiasm of the young generation to contribute to the progress of the region continues to emerge. One of them is shown by Aulia Dewi, a third semester student of the Civil Engineering Study Program at the Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines), who was recently selected as the Rembang Tourism Ambassador. She achieved this title after successfully outperforming other participants in the selection of the Rembang Regency Tourism Ambassador.
This opportunity became a starting point for Aulia to be more active in promoting Rembang's natural wealth, culture, and creative economic potential to the public, especially young people.
The daughter of Sarpani and Sri Wahyuni explained that her role as a tourism ambassador has been greatly aided by the existence of social media and digital platforms. She has even developed a promotional program concept titled "Bergaul."
Even though she studies in Semarang, Aulia said that many of her campus friends don't know her hometown.
Therefore, he began to introduce various culinary specialties from Rembang, such as dumbeg and kawista syrup, to make them more widely known.
"As a young person from Rembang, I feel I have to take part in introducing the region so that it becomes better known to the wider community," said the girl who was born on August 24, 2006.
Aulia understands that promoting tourism cannot be done quickly.
He chose to consistently fulfill his duties while balancing his studies and activities as a tourism ambassador. When he had free time, he always made time to return to Waru Playon Village, Rembang District, especially after the grand final night.
Every time he returns to Rembang, he is usually accompanied by his friends from the Rembang Mbak and Mas Association (IMMR) to carry out a number of social activities.
"We want to benefit the community. For example, teaching children in villages or giving classes on the world of tourism ambassadors to students in Rembang Regency," he said.
With simple steps taken continuously, Aulia hopes that the name of Rembang will become increasingly well-known, both through its culture, culinary delights, and tourist destinations.
