Polines Receives SNPMB 2025 Award for Most Expedition Videos

MAKASSAR – Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) received an award in the category of Most Produced Expedition Videos from the 2025 National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) committee. This award was presented directly by the Chairperson of the 2025 SNPMB Responsible Team, Prof. Eduart Wolok, and the SNPMB Public Relations Coordinator. Ismaini Zein, while providing direction at the Discussion on Evaluation and Technical Reporting of Public Relations Activities of Academic and Vocational Universities, Wednesday (9/7/2025) at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

This appreciation is a recognition of Polines' active contribution in producing educational video content and promoting SNPMB 2025.

In his remarks, Prof. Eduart Wolok conveyed that the contribution of public relations of state universities (PTN) is very significant in increasing the number of SNPMB participants from year to year. "According to available data, this year's SNBP participants numbered 776,515 students, while SNBT participants reached 860,976 students. This makes SNPMB one of the largest simultaneous new student registrations in the world," he said.

However, he also cautioned that several challenges remain. For example, in the SNBP pathway, schools are still being found to be late in submitting data to the Higher Education Database (PD Dikti), resulting in their students failing to register. Meanwhile, in the SNBT pathway, new and increasingly sophisticated cheating methods have been discovered. "There are even mini cameras placed in braces; this is beyond the scope of Nurul," he said.

The briefing session then continued with a technical evaluation presentation by Ismaini Zein, Public Relations Coordinator for the National University Entrance Examination (SNPMB). She stated that the primary challenge for Public Relations for State Universities (PTN) going forward is to become a credible source of information on the SNPMB, especially amidst the proliferation of similar content on social media.

"The current challenge for public relations in state universities is how to become a trusted source of SNPMB information, especially through social media, which is now filled with many parties. Furthermore, we must be able to convey information that aligns with the characteristics of Gen Z," he said.

This award strengthens Polines' position as a vocational institution that excels not only in education but also actively engages in impactful public communication strategies.
