Holding an Open House, Polines Welcomes High School and Vocational School Students

Semarang, Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) held an activity open house for high school and vocational high school students in the Central Java region. The activity held on Thursday (12/9/2024) was attended by dozens of participants consisting of grade 12 students and accompanying teachers.

Opening ceremony open house was held at the Polines Integrated Lecture Building, 1st Floor, which was welcomed directly by the Director of Polines, Dr. Eni Dwi Wardihani and the Head of the Department at Polines. Tahan Prahara, the person in charge of the activity who is also a lecturer at the Polines Electrical Engineering Department, said that this activity was one of a series of events for the 42nd Polines Dies Natalis.

"The hope is that with this open house "This way, high school and vocational school students will be more interested in becoming part of the Polines family in the future," he said.

In this activity, Tahan said that the participants open house invited to go around to see the ins and outs of Polines. On the other hand, Director of Polines Dr. Eni Dwi Wardihani in her speech expressed her gratitude and welcome to the participants. open house. Eni said that Polines welcomes with open arms high school and vocational school graduates who want to become part of the Polines family.

Eni emphasized that Polines is committed to producing graduates who are immediately ready to work. This is proven by the educational model at Polines with 60 percent being practicum and the rest being theory.

"Polines has a commitment that after graduating, students can immediately be accepted for work. In Polines, the learning system is more practical, so when they graduate, they will have skills according to what is needed by the industry," he said.

He also emphasized that continuing education at a polytechnic is no less prestigious than at a university. In fact, according to him, polytechnic graduates have their own distinctive advantages.

"Education in polytechnics is equivalent to that in universities. With the advantage that polytechnic graduates are more ready to work in the industry because they are prepared since college," he said.

According to Eni, this is also supported by the data she has that 90 percent of Polines graduates immediately get jobs in less than 6 months. In addition to being equipped with a diploma, it was also conveyed that when students graduate, they will be given a Certificate of Companion to the Diploma which shows the qualifications of Polines graduates.

“The laboratories and workshops at Polines also apply the principle one man one tool, which means one student holds one piece of practical equipment," he concluded.
