Polines Entrepreneurship Expo was attended by hundreds of students from all over Java and Sumatra

Director of Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) Prof. Totok Prasetyo said that college graduates are expected not just to look for work, but to be able and willing to create new jobs. "Yes, through entrepreneurship they are expected to create new jobs," he explained, Thursday (30/11/2023).

Prof. Totok Prasetyo said this when Polines hosted the Entrepreneurship Expo Festival, at the Polines campus, Tembalang, Semarang City. Prof. Totok Prasetyo said that hundreds of students from 32 universities throughout Java and Sumatra participated in enlivening the Entrepreneurship Expo Festival. They promote and show off their creativity in the fields of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), culinary, crafts, there is also creativity in the field of technology, and others.

This Expo Festival showcases the innovations of students participating in the Independent Entrepreneurship and Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW) of the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines). "We encourage students to participate in the Entrepreneurship Expo Festival, including inviting investors. So from here, investors will be interested in and mass produce the creativity of existing students. "It also increases students' knowledge in innovation, through entrepreneurship," he explained.

According to him, the Entrepreneurship Expo Festival is one of the keys to encouraging students to create innovations in entrepreneurship. 264 we are trying even with technology, their crafts are manual, mass produced.

On this occasion, even the Kupang State Polytechnic under the command of its Director, Frans Mangngi ST MEng, brought 154 students and 25 supervisors to attend this activity.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Polines Independent Entrepreneurial Team, Misbakhul Arrezqi, SE, MM, said that the Entrepreneurship Expo Festival is one of a series of the Independent Entrepreneurship program, which is one of the flagship programs of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

"The Ministry of Education and Culture previously opened opportunities for universities to become Entrepreneurial Program Organizers. Polines then submitted a proposal and succeeded in becoming one of the organizers of 34 universities in Indonesia," he said.

He explained that the Entrepreneurship Expo Festival was also open to the general public who were enthusiastic about the field of entrepreneurship. Visitors who attend the activities at the Polines Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) will later be able to purchase the entrepreneurial innovations available and collaborate with the participants.

"Indeed, our main goal in this activity is to provide business stimulation to all participants because they are still beginners. "Apart from that, we provide access to stakeholders and the environment around our beloved campus to provide opportunities to seek motivation or collaboration," he continued.

"The internship here is really a business internship, not an internship in the sense of being a worker, but their internship is problem solving. "The participants met with the owner, then discussed how to start a business, then what starting a business was like," he explained.

On this occasion, Polines also hosted the inauguration of the 2023 Central Java Youth Entrepreneurship Forum (FKP) Management. This activity was held at the Polines Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) 2nd floor, Thursday (30/11/2023).

One of the lecturers at the Semarang State Polytechnic, Misbakhul Arrezqi, SE, MM, was appointed as General Chair of the Central Java FKP 2023-2026.
