Semarang, Director General (Dirjen) Vocational Education, Kiki Yuliati attended the inauguration of the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) which was held on Friday (4/8/2023).
In the activities carried out at the GKT Polines Pages, Kiki said that the construction of the GKT Polines was one of the steps taken by the government to show its commitment.
"The government is very committed and has shown its commitment by preparing relevant and up-to-date infrastructure for vocational education," he told media crew.
According to him, technological developments that occur need to be accompanied by increased facilities and infrastructure, one of which is a building for student education. That way, the implementation of vocational education can be carried out with maximum quality according to the needs of the business world and the industrial world.
Kiki emphasized that the rapid development of technology requires that education providers must always be adaptive. According to him, this ability to adapt does not have to be borne by only one party.
“How to meet the needs of technology, say. We don't have to buy it ourselves, we don't have to have it ourselves, by sharing resources or resource sharing, Why not? Therefore, we also strengthen and enhance our partnerships with the business world and the industrial world," he said.
Closing the interview, the Director General of Vocational Studies expressed his hopes for the event which was also included in the series of events for the 41st Anniversary of the Semarang State Polytechnic.
"My hope is that Polines has been good and very good so far. Then I hope, as all the Indonesian people hope, Polines will be much better and more powerful," he concluded.
On the other hand, Polines Director Totok Prasetyo expressed his gratitude for the arrival of invited guests who had participated in enlivening the inauguration of the GKT Polines. He said that the process of building the building did not take a short time.
"The planning for this building began with a proposal in 2020 so it was the work of Mr. Supriyadi, Director of Polines for the 2017-2021 period. So I just have to continue with the execution," he said.
He added that in order to respect what the previous director had planned and designed, he and his staff then proceeded with what needed to be done. Apart from that, to appreciate the services of the first Polines Director, it was announced that the building which had been inaugurated would be named GKT Ir. Darmojo.
"That is our appreciation, the Semarang State Polytechnic extended family for his services," he added.
According to him, the building, which was financed with the 2022-2023 project sukuk from the SBSN funds, is also a mandate for the Semarang State Polytechnic to develop vocational education even better.
"I ask for your blessing, I hope that all of us at the Semarang State Polytechnic can truly carry out the mandate that God Almighty has given us to advance this Indonesian vocational education.,he concluded.
As additional information, the Deputy Director for General Affairs and Finance, Karnowahadi added that the building which had been inaugurated was built on an area of 2400 square meters with a building area of 1460 square meters on the ground floor.
"With a total building area of 8 floors plus rooftop it is 9433 square meters,” he explained.
The proposal for the construction of the GKT Polines has been submitted since 2020 and approved in 2022. In April 2022, the building construction process was carried out and completed in May 2023. This integrated lecture building consists of 53 theory classrooms with a capacity of 30 students per class.
“Inside are four classrooms with equipment smart classroom, which is expected to later be used for hybrid classroom,” he added.
In addition, there are nine lecturer rooms and lecturer transit rooms because the integrated lecture building is used for all majors. There are also two multifunctional rooms, each of which can accommodate 500 people, with two prayer rooms.
The eight-floor building also provides toilets at each level for boys, girls and people with disabilities. Three elevators are provided with a maximum capacity of around 15 people in one process. Then there are also other means such as Wifi, fire alarms, sprinklers, as well as CCTV.
