To support student practice facilities, Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) received a grant of 6 (six) ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) engines from Wuling Motors. This was marked by the signing of the Polines collaboration with PT SGMW Motor Indonesia or better known as Wuling Motors. Signing event by Dr. Eni Dwi Wardihani (Deputy Director for Cooperation, Public Relations and Information Systems Polines) and Arif Pradana Vice President PT SGMW Motor Indonesia, took place at the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC), Block BA No. 1, Deltamas, Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Tuesday 2 July 2024.
After the signing ceremony continued with the handover of the grant of 6 (six) ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) engines from Wuling Motors. In his speech, Arif Pradana, Vice President of PT SGMW Motor Indonesia said that the grant was a form of PT SGMW MOTOR INDONESIA's concern for education. "With the "Wuling Service to Education" program," he said.
Meanwhile, Eni Dwi Wardihani (Deputy Director for Cooperation, Public Relations and Information Systems at Polines) expressed his deepest thanks to Wuling Motors. "This grant is very useful for Polines to develop Project Based Learning (PBL) learning methods," he explained.
Students can immediately use this tool to complete practical projects related to car engines. This will certainly increase student competence. Polines also hopes, continued Eni, that this collaboration will not only stop here but will also continue to be improved with other collaborations such as internship collaborations, industrial lecturer collaborations and other collaborations so that it is in line with Polines' motto "Collaborating Together to Build the Country".
Head of the Polines Mechanical Engineering Department, Abdul Syukur Alfauzi, who was also present at the machine handover, said that this grant was very useful for supporting practicums in laboratories in the mechanical engineering department. "This machine grant supports student practicum in the laboratory," he explained.
The arrival of a grant of 6 (six) ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) engines from Wuling Motors at the Polines campus was received directly by the Head of the Maintenance and Repair Laboratory, Polines Mechanical Engineering Department, Padang Yanuar. He expressed his gratitude for the arrival of the 6 units of ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) engines. "This machine grant can be a means of supporting the teaching and learning process on the Polines campus," he said.
Padang explained that although the teaching and learning process in the laboratory he manages focuses on maintenance and repair of industrial machines, students are also given some material related to automotive knowledge. With the arrival of this grant machine from Wuling Motors, it certainly adds variety to learning for students. "Because students need to be equipped with the basics related to automotive," he explained.
Even though recently electric vehicles (EV) have become a hot topic of discussion, Padang has the view that vehicles powered by petrol or diesel will still be needed in the years to come. "Learning related to ICE engines is still relevant for the future," he concluded. (jul/jul)
