Polines Security Unit Gets Training in Evacuation of High-rise Building Fire Disasters

SEMARANG – Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) held Evacuation and Fire Disaster Management Training for Multi-Storey Buildings for security unit officers (security guards) on the 1st Floor of the Integrated Lecture Building (GKT), Polines Campus, Tembalang, Semarang, Saturday (29/6/2024). This activity was followed and monitored directly by Noor Kuntono, SH as Polines Housekeeping Coordinator.

In this training, Kuswandono, Head of the Fire Fighting Training Team, shared theoretical and practical knowledge such as procedures for using light fire extinguishers and simulating fire handling and evacuation. Apart from that, all training participants receive provisions rescue to help victims of fire disasters when they are faced with the real situation.

"Today, apart from presenting theory, all participants were directed directly to the first simulation on how to most effectively evacuate injured fire victims, both with stretchers and without equipment," he said.

Learning from experience, Noor Kuntono said that the existence of multi-storey buildings in Polines must be balanced with adequate security and safety. Starting from anticipating emergencies by providing fire prevention and control facilities. Then, arranging evacuation routes is very important to minimize the risk of casualties.

"This training is really needed, especially in high-rise buildings, especially directing victims to evacuation routes as quickly as possible during an emergency. I hope that the training participants can be serious and understand the material presented by the firefighting training team so that they are ready when faced with a real situation," he hoped.ang/jul)
