Director of Polines 2021-2025 Prof Totok Prasetyo has Passed Away

Semarang – The world of education is in mourning over the death of the Director of Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) 2021-2025, Prof. Dr. Totok Prasetyo , B.Eng (Hons), MT, IPU, ASEAN. Eng, ACPE. The figure who has passed away on Saturday (16/12/2023) evening was laid to rest at TPU Majan Kramat, Kramat Village, Munthilan, Magelang on Sunday (17/12/2023).

The final honoring ceremony for the deceased was held at the Semarang State Polytechnic Directorate Building on Sunday (17/12/2023) morning which was attended by several educational figures and one of them was Plt. Director of Courses and Training, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology; Dr. Wartanto, MM who also gave his final speech and respect there.

“Today we lost one of the figures who often motivates us all. "There is still no figure who can replace him, the deceased was placed in the best place," he said.

The final honoring ceremony for the figure who was also the Director of Polines for the 2009-2013 period was attended by almost a hundred people, including Polines employees, students, educational figures and the local community.

The death of Prof. Totok Prasetyo left scars for all employees remembering the brilliant achievements that had been left behind. Apart from being the second professor at Polines in the field of thermodynamics, under the leadership of Prof. Totok Prasetyo Polines has achieved several achievements at national and even international levels.

Some of the latest achievements achieved are Polines getting gold IKU PTV numbers 5, 6 and 7 within the Directorate General of Vocational Education in 2023. Apart from that, Polines won 2nd place in the HR management work unit in the PTN Regional Work Unit Category with less than the same as 500 employees within the Ministry of Education and Culture.

According to AppliedHE Public University Ranking:ASEAN 2024, this year Polines also entered the top 80 best PTNs in ASEAN at position 67, number 17 in Indonesia, and number 2 in the ranks of polytechnics in Indonesia under PNJ.

For additional information, Prof. Totok Prasetyo has passed away at the age of 61 and left behind his wife, Umining Kadaryati and two children, namely Dr. Herthyaning Prasetyo and Tomy Muhammad Prasetyo. Prof. Totok previously served as Head of the Thermal Machine Laboratory in 1994 – 1995, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the period 1996 – 1999, and received the Satyalancana Karya Satya XX Year award in 2013 and Satyalancana Karya Satya XXX Year in 2021.
