Attend Polines 41st Anniversary, Deputy Governor Encourages Mass Production of Student Innovation

The Deputy Governor (Wagub) of Central Java, Taj Yasin Maimoen, said that the Central Java Provincial Government encourages student innovation work to be useful.

"We encourage them to create new job opportunities, they have innovations and works for us to introduce. It can become a new business and can recruit a lot of employees. So that it can be developed and mass-produced, by collaborating with the Business World and the Industrial World (DUDI)," said the Deputy Governor of Central Java, while attending the 41st Anniversary of the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines), Monday (7/8/2023).

This year's Polines Anniversary has the theme Polines Towards Globally Visible Locally Engaged Higher Education Ready to Build a Vocational Education Ecosystem.

The Deputy Governor of Central Java, Taj Yasin, further said that it was hoped that innovation and student work could be used. “Don't just take part in competitions, after that just enter campus. There's no development. However, we hope to be introduced to the public and DUDI. Students who have innovations and become champions, then their work can be mass produced. I also hope that Polines will continue to encourage its students to work," he explained.

Moreover, according to him, currently the Central Java Provincial Government is also following government regulations, which continues to encourage the use of at least 40 percent of the use of domestic production. This climate is also a driving force for student innovation work to be used.

In his remarks the Director of Polines, Prof. Dr. Totok Prasetyo said, Polines is one of the six pioneering State Polytechnics in the country. Polines will immediately realize the ideals of Polines 2029, namely to become an integrated center for technological and business innovation that has a real contribution to educating the nation's life, advancing the nation's welfare and competitiveness.

The successful development, strengthening and improvement of Polines that have been achieved in the 2015-2019 period as a vocational institution adhering to the motto 'Committed to Quality' is an important step for the great and comprehensive success of the achievement strategic plan for the 2020-2024 period.

Polines also equips its graduates with professionally certified competencies from the Polines Professional Certification Institute (LSP) which obtains a license from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

On this occasion, a collaboration was also signed with the Central Java Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). Also a scientific oration entitled Challenges and Opportunities for Vocational Higher Education in Disaster Risk Reduction by Garup Lambang Goro, Lecturer at the Polines Civil Engineering Department. Also exhibited are the works and innovations of students and lecturers.   she
