Polines Try to Integrate Technology With Business To Become a Campus Center of Excellence in Technology

Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) held its 35th Anniversary with the theme "Improvement"

The Excellence of Polines through Strengthening the Benefit Value of Creative-innovative Works”. In realizing Polines' ideals as an "Integrated Center for Technology and Business Innovation", the entire Polines academic community strives to make a real contribution to the intellectual life of the nation, advancing the welfare and competitiveness of the nation.

Director of Polines Supriyadi said, currently Polines has various study programs (progdi) offered to prospective students. Ranging from engineering to accounting.

Supriyadi explained that in order to go to a superior technology campus, his party is identifying existing programs so that they can focus on vocational education, so that Polines has an identity and has advantages.

What will be pioneered, continued Supriyadi, is Polines to become a central campus of excellence integrated with business actors. Thus, the work of students and lecturers can be developed into a mass product, not only in the form of a prototype or ending in a showroom.

"Hopefully it can be integrated in 2029, between Polines technology and related stakeholders. This is because the works of students and lecturers only end up being prototypes and trials cannot be mass produced. If the work from Polines is accepted by the community, of course it can be mass produced,” said Supriyadi.

Currently, Supriyadi continued, Polines has the support of quality human resources and superior competencies to ensure the sustainability of the Tridharma of Higher Education. Up to now, the number of permanent lecturers is 323 lecturers. There are 21 lecturers with S3 backgrounds and 300 lecturers for Masters.

As of August 7 2017, Polines added 10 doctors who have recently studied at universities both at home and abroad. Polines also has a Professional Certification Institute licensed by the National Professional Certification Agency, to certify student competencies.
