HISTORY
It started with a group of students who liked to tinker with radio transmitters and an idea flowed. An idea to make innovations in the broadcasting world, especially at the Semarang State Polytechnic at that time by establishing a Campus Radio UKM. Polines as an institution also welcomes the establishment of an UKM in the field of talent interest in the world broadcasting and public speaking.
Established on February 13, 1989 under the name Polytechnic Limited Broadcasting System (PLBS FM). From then on, PLBS FM broadcasts with simple equipment trying to give a new color, especially on the Semarang State Polytechnic campus. With the tag line “Campus Info and Music Line”, PLBS FM tries to become a source of information about the campus world, especially the Semarang State Polytechnic, while also becoming a new color in the world of non-commercial radio.
PLBS FM also experienced a period where it had to be vacuumed from the radio world for 1 year without broadcasting, because there were various management problems and obstacles that made PLBS FM unable to broadcast. However, with strong determination and motivation from both the campus and students who really love the world of radio, the vacuum can be ended one year later.
NEW PLBS FM
It started with a series of events to welcome back UKM Radio Kampus which had been on hiatus, including the Reborn Party event. An event to welcome the rebirth of PLBS FM which had suspended animation, then by continuing to use the name PLBS FM but with the addition of "New" in front. New PLBS FM has become a campus radio, which step by step is trying to make it successful again.
