Dimensi is the only Student Press Institution (LPM) in the circle of the Semarang State Polytechnic Student Association (KBM). We do not know the exact date when LPM Dimensi was established. We have also been looking for it and the results are still uncertain. Therefore, based on deliberations conducted by the Members of the Working Body consisting of the General Leader (PU) for the 2018/2019 period, three pillar leaders for the 2018/2019 period, three representative crews from level one for the 2018/2019 period selected by PU, and PU for the 2017/2018 period proposes to determine the date of birth of LPM Dimensi. Then on Saturday, July 14, 2018 which coincided with the AD/ART general assembly, an Overview and Implementation Guidelines it was agreed that the date of birth of LPM Dimensi was February 9, 1988. Of which February 9 was chosen because it coincided with National Press Day and 1988 was chosen based on the first year LPM Dimensi magazine is published.
Dimension as an LPM tries to carry out its role as a press that is required to be independent and does not obey the institution or anyone who wants to steer the Dimensions steps. We will become an independent institution but remain in the right corridor in accordance with the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 40 of 1999 concerning the Press and the Journalistic Code of Ethics. We will move according to our ideology as a Student Press. We will continue to strive to keep our duties as eyes, ears and hands in terms of providing information, especially for Semarang State Polytechnic students.

LPM DIMENSI's activities are in the form of searching and reporting news on and off the POLINES campus, publishing bulletins devoted to certain moments, publishing magazines every semester, informing the general public, especially polynes students about activities in Semarang and its surroundings on the website.
