Another proud achievement was shown by the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) students. Recently, the Creative Station Team with members Irfan Ardia, Diah Indah Savitri and Yoga Bramanditya won first place in the Internet of Things (IoT) category competition at the Technocorner 2019 event held by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering, Universitas Gajah Mada ( UGM), Yogyakarta.
Technocorner is a national level competition that is followed by students, from elementary school to university students. There are 4 sub competitions in Technocrner, namely Soccer Bot Competition, Sumo Bot Competition, Mach Bot Competition, Electrical Engineering Competition, and Internet of Things Development.
The innovation produced by the Creative Station Team so that it won the IoT category was Smart Gas. Is a system that can detect gas leaks and perform the first treatment by removing the gas regulator automatically, turning on the siren buzzer and providing notifications to users through the android application.
According to Diah Indah Savitri (team member), Smart Gas can control the regulator remotely, anytime and anywhere. "Thus reducing the level of concern for LPG gas users by removing the regulator using a smart phone," he explained. Smart gas also provides information on severe conditions as well as monitoring daily gas usage.
