In order to do tracerstudy at the alumni of the Electrical Engineering Department at the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines), especially the 2016 graduates, the heads of the study programs at the Polynes Electrical Engineering Department met with alumni representatives at Upnormal Coffee Roaster, Cikini, Jakarta, Thursday 18 October 2018 night. This was explained by the head of the Tracer Study activity, Department of Electrical Engineering Polines Thomas Agung Setyawan ST MT. Furthermore, Thomas who is also Plt. The Head of the D3 Telecommunication Engineering Study Program said that through this activity, he wanted to know information about the waiting period for alumni for the first job, the suitability between work and education, and other data that had been determined.
More than 40 alumni attended the occasion. Also present were the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Dr Amin Suharjono ST MT and all the other Heads of Study Programs within the Department of Electrical Engineering, namely the Head of the D3 Electrical Engineering Study Program Yusnan Badruzzaman ST MEng, the Head of the D3 Electronics Engineering Study Program Ilham Sayekti ST MKom, the Head of the D3 Informatics Engineering Study Program Sukamto SKom MT, and the Head of the Study Program Bachelor of Applied Telecommunication Engineering Ari Sriyanto Nugroho ST MT MSc. Amin Suharjono on this occasion also asked for input from alumni related to the suitability of the material received during his education at Polines with the work he was involved in in the world of work today.
Alumni representatives from each study program provided input for the improvement of Polines lecture materials in the future. Arya Pitaka STr, for example, said that Polynes Electrical Engineering graduates were able to compete in the industrial world, both in national and multinational companies. This is because since they were in college, they have been taught to always be disciplined in everything, and to always have a high work spirit. During his time as a student, he was trained to find solutions to the problems he faced, as well as develop creative ideas to solve problems. Arya Pitaka also gave input so that Polines always develops efforts to improve soft skills students, for example in terms of communication with foreign languages as well as training coordination and teamwork (teamwork), all of which have great benefits for graduates in the world of work.
