The Student Executive Board for the Large Family of Semarang State Polytechnic Students (BEM KBM Polines) this Thursday (19/4) held a Grand Recitation and Prayer Polines at the Polines Directorate field, Tembalang. Carrying the theme of Islamic Youth Loving the Homeland, this event was attended by habaib, kyai and community leaders, Tembalang Muspika, leaders, lecturers and education staff of Polines, students and residents around the Polines campus.
The event began with the reading of the holy verses of the Qur'an, which was followed by a speech by the Chairman of the Committee, Firman Maulana. "Alhamdulillah, the activities of the Grand Recitation and the Polines Bersholawat can be carried out smoothly and as expected. Many worshipers who attended filled the field of the Polines Directorate even though it rained a little this afternoon,” said Firman. This activity is the first grand prayer reading event held at Polines. "Seeing the enthusiasm of the congregation for the longing for the Prophet Muhammad through beautiful chants of sholawat, we hope that this Grand Recitation activity and the Polines Bersholawat can continue to be carried out from generation to generation by upholding the synergy of the Semarang State Polytechnic academic community," said Firman. who also serves as Minister of Religion BEM KBM Polines.
In his speech representing the Director of Polines who is carrying out official duties outside the city, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Ir Endro Wasito MKom welcomed the event organized by the BEM KBM Polines. "Hopefully this event will bring benefits, not only for Polynes students and academics, but also for the wider community around Polines," said Endro Wasito. Also attending were Deputy Director for Student Affairs Adhy Purnomo ST MT, Deputy Director for Planning and Cooperation Drs Budi Prasetya MSi, Head of Education Quality Assurance Ir Moch Muqorrobin MEng, Expert Staff Director Moh Haris SE MSi, Secretary of the Department of Electrical Engineering Syahid ST MEng, Head of UPT ICT, as well as several Polines lecturers and education staff.
The sholawat reading uses the Mawlid Simthudduror book by Habib Ali bin Muhammad Al Habsy (Yemen), which was brought by the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah Al-Muqorrobin Ta'lim Council from Kendal. Habaib who attended included Habib Fauzi Al Munawwar, Habib Hilmi Alaydrus, Habib Firdaus, with the recitation being filled by Habib Umar Al Muthohhar and Habib Muhammad. On the sidelines of the event, donations were also held for orphans living around the Tembalang area.
Habib Umar in the first session of recitation observed that among students in recent years there has been an increase in enthusiasm in studying religious knowledge. However, said Habib Umar, "Learning religious knowledge should be through the teacher, so as not to experience the wrong direction". Given the importance of the role of a teacher, especially in studying religious knowledge, one should be careful in choosing a teacher. "The chosen teacher should have a scientific chain that continues to the Prophet Muhammad, not one who just has a turban or a longer beard," Habib Umar emphasized.
The importance of the teacher's role is one of the lessons of Isra' Mi'raj. In the event that ultimately came down to the obligation to perform the five daily prayers, Allah swt sent the Angel Gabriel to accompany the Prophet Muhammad. In the event of Isra', Allah showed miraculous events to the Prophet Muhammad. When he saw this, the Angel Gabriel explained to the Prophet the meaning behind each incident. So in this case, the Angel Gabriel acts as a "teacher".
Another lesson from Isra' Mi'raj is about the importance of praying. On the journey of Isra', the Prophet Muhammad was disturbed by the ifrit genie. The Prophet then prayed to Allah so that he managed to escape from the disturbance. The lesson is that in human life there will always be problems, disturbances or temptations, especially from jinn and devils. However, these disturbances can be eradicated through praying to Allah SWT.
One of the prayers that are recommended when facing problems is the prayer of the Prophet Moses who begged Allah to be given spaciousness when facing Pharaoh. With an open chest (like a wide lake), the problem (like a handful of salt) will not be felt. It's different if the chest is tight (like water in a glass), then the problem (like a handful of salt) will feel heavy (ie tastes salty in the comparison).
In the second session of recitation, Habib Muhammad reminded students to always pray in congregation in the mosque. After that, you should always improve the quality of prayer to be more solemn'. “One simple indication of sincere prayer is that we can enjoy prayer as if we enjoy eating or drinking, or enjoying other pleasures. If it can be like that, it means that our prayers are solemn',” Habib Muhammad likened it.
Furthermore, Habib Muhammad also described the most important pleasures in heaven, namely the pleasure of being able to see Allah, and the pleasure of meeting Rasulullah Muhammad SAW, which every Muslim has always missed.
