Kurnianingsih, a lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) was selected to be one of the executive committees (Exco) in IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific). IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the largest international professional organization consisting of engineers, scientists, and students.
The election of Kurnianingsih is an honor, considering that this young lecturer who is familiarly called Nia is the only representative from Indonesia who holds the position of Exco IEEE Region 10. "The only representative of Indonesia who occupies Exco," he said proudly. He was elected as Exco, explained Nia, in the IEEE Region 10 Executive Committee Meeting which took place in Yangon, Myanmar recently.
He was selected as the Coordinator of Electronic Communications and Information Management for the Asia Pacific region. He explained that the IEEE in the world is divided into 10 regions (Regions) as follows: Region 1: Northeastern USA, Region 2: Eastern USA, Region 3: Southeastern USA, Region 4: Central USA, Region 5: Southwestern USA, Region 6: Western USA, Region 7: Canada, Region 8: Europe, Middle East and Africa, Region 9: Latin America and Region 10: Asia and Pacific.
Kurnianingsih started her career in the management of the IEEE Indonesia Section since 2015 as the Young Professionals Chair in Indonesia. Considering his good performance during the 2015 – 2017 range, he was selected as Indonesia's representative for the Asia Pacific region in 2018. Kurnianingsih is currently completing the final stage of her Doctoral Program study at Gadjah Mada University.
Director of Polines, Ir. Supriyadi, MT welcomed the lecturers' work in this international forum. "Hopefully we can carry out the mandate well," he said. As the representative of Indonesia in the IEEE Asia Pacific, continued Supriyadi, I hope this mandate can make the name of Polines and the Indonesian nation proud.
