The 6th The IEEE International Conference on Communication, Networks and Satellite (COMNETSAT) 2017 was officially opened by the Director of Polines.
The opening was carried out by the Director of Polines Ir Supriyadi MT at the South Grand Ballroom Gumaya Tower Hotel Semarang Thursday 5 October 2017 through the beating of a gong witnessed by the Chair of the IEEE Indonesia Section Prof. Dr. Fitri Yuli Zulkifli and General Chair of COMNETSAT 2017 Dr. Amin Suharjono. The theme of this year's conference is “Practical Prospective on New Technologies: From Theory to Industrial Challenges and Business Opportunities”.
Amin Suharjono in his report said that there were 30 scientific papers (paper) who passed the selection from 76 papers submitted by 169 authors from 14 countries. Papers were reviewed using the method blind review by team Technical Program Committee (TPC) which has 260 members from 43 countries. The conference was held for 3 days until Saturday 7 October 2017. On the first day it was held plenary talk with three key speakers (keynote speaker) namely Prof. Hiroshi Ochi (Japan), Prof. Mahamod Ismail (Malaysia) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khoirul Anwar (Indonesia) continued with two parallel session. On the second day, an industrial session was held featuring Krisna Wisnu (National Instrument) followed by three parallel session. For the third day, a city tour will be held for participants who wish.
Prof. Fitri Yuli Zulkifli explained that COMNETSAT is an annual scientific conference sponsored by the IEEE Indonesia Section, IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) Indonesia Chapter, IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society/Geoscience & Remote Sensing Society (AESS/GRSS) Indonesia Joint Chapter and organized by universities high in Indonesia. The purpose of the conference is for researchers, academics, scientists, students, engineers and industry practitioners to participate and present the results of the latest research, development and applications related to various aspects of the latest technology and future research in the scope of communications, networks and indexed satellites. especially by IEEE Digital Explore. This year, together with COMNETSAT, IEEE Day is also celebrated through the WISHY IEEE Indonesia Congress with the theme "Technology for Quality of Life". WISHY stands for Women in engineering, Industry relations, Students, Humanitarian, and Young professionals. Congress featuring 9 speakers in four parallel session.
In his welcoming speech as well as the opening, Supriyadi expressed his gratitude to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Indonesia Section for trusting Polines as the organizer of IEEE COMNETSAT and the IEEE WISHY Congress in 2017. exchange research experiences and other scientific activities, as well as discuss with each other about the latest technological developments. Supriyadi also hopes that the participants will feel comfortable during the conference and congress in the city of Semarang.
