SEMARANG – Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) held an Open Senate Meeting in the context of its 42nd Anniversary at the Integrated Lecture Building (GKT), Polines Campus, Tembalang, Semarang, Tuesday (6/8/2024) with the theme "Semarang State Polytechnic is Superior in Applied Innovation, Producing Human Resources with Character and Sustainable Global Competitiveness”.
The meeting was opened by Saniman Widodo, SE., MM as Chair of the Polines Senate. In this meeting, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, SE, M.Sc. Chancellor of Diponegoro University, Endi Faiz Effendi, SPi., MA, Head of Regional Development Administration Bureau for Central Java Province, TNI/Polri Officials, Former Director of Polines, Head of Study Programs, Head of Departments, Education Staff, Students, Partners of Polines and other invited guests.
In his speech, Dr. Eni DwiWardihani, ST, MT Director of Polines said that with the current momentum Polines continues to be committed to strengthening the quality of student graduates, lecturers and curriculum.
“Polines will always maintain these 3 indicators, this is proven by the results tracer study "If Polines graduates are successful in getting a job in less than 6 months, 70 to 90 percent can work in a field that suits their competence," he said.
He also added that Polines' current lecturer qualifications are capable of carrying out the task of transforming Vocational Higher Education, namely producing human resources that are in line with industry needs.
"In the field of research and service, Polines lecturers have achieved extraordinary results where by 2024, 114 lecturer research outputs have been recognized both nationally and internationally and 45 TTGs, in addition there are 134 IPR granted titles consisting of 5 simple patents, 1 patent and 128 Copyright," he added.
Apart from that, the Director of Polines explained that in 2024 Polines will continue to increase cooperation with partners both in terms of quantity and quality.
"This is done to ensure the curriculum is in line with the needs and developments of the industrial world, therefore Polines is collaborating with industrial partners on both a national and international scale to jointly sit together to design the curriculum," he stressed.
In its service as a vocational higher education institution in Semarang, of course Polines faces various tough challenges that are increasingly complex and dynamic which inevitably must be faced for the sake of the sustainability of vocational education which has been pioneered for more than four years.
"I hope that we must continue to improve ourselves, continue to improve our competence, and adapt to the times, of course with a spirit of togetherness and hard work, we will be able to face these various challenges and bring Polines to be even better," hoped DirektourPolines.
This time, the Polines Senate Open Meeting included a series of other activities, namely the Polines Expo 2024 which showcased the superior innovations of students and lecturers and the People's Festival where all Polines students and academics could eat Indonesian culinary dishes. (ang/jul)
