Semarang, Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) held a graduation ceremony for its students on Saturday (24/09/2022) at the Convention Hall, Central Java Grand Mosque (MAJT), Jl. Gajah Raya, Semarang.
In his speech, the Director of Polines Prof. Dr. Totok Prasetyo, B.Eng (Hons), MT, IPU, ASEAN.Eng, ACPE advised graduates to be brave figures.
“I advise all graduates, be brave. For that, do a quick calculation of the risk of the decisions that we will take," said Prof. Totok in his speech.
He said that there is no need to be afraid to take measured risks. According to him, this is because success and victory belongs to those who are brave.
"After all that graduates have done, leave everything to Allah SWT, the Almighty God, who can elevate the degree and dignity of graduates to a high place that graduates may never have imagined before," he said.
Furthermore, Prof. Totok said that a successful university graduate must have an adaptive character.
"Nothing is permanent in this world. Be it work or other social issues, everything will change by itself, depending on how we treat it,” he said.
The importance of this adaptive character according to Prof. Totok, becomes one of the keys in overcoming the various complicated problems that will be faced.
He hopes that with the graduates of Polines today, they will take advantage of their abilities in the future. In addition to what was previously mentioned, honesty; trust; and a strong character as a character generation is expected to be utilized as well as possible.
Prof. Totok also emphasized that wherever Polines graduates continue their career paths, they should uphold the good name of the alma mater with full integrity, commitment, and provide a positive response to the campus for the sake of the future.
"I believe that your academic achievements are certainly the result of your hard work, perseverance and tenacity, as well as moral support and prayers from family and relatives," he added.
“Finally, we once again congratulate the graduates who have successfully graduated today. Hopefully this success will be the beginning and the gateway to great success in the future," he said.
On the other hand, the Deputy Director (Wadir) for Academic Affairs, Dr. Samuel Beta explained that there were 1,661 graduates graduating today.
"3 people from the Applied Masters Study Program, 453 people from the Applied Undergraduate Study Program, and 125 people from the Diploma III Study Program," he explained.
As for that number, there were 1,230 graduates who graduated with Cumlaude honors. Among them, there were also two students who became the best disciplined graduates, namely Siti Aisah from the Managerial Accounting Study Program with a GPA of 3.99 and Shinta Khoirun Nisa from the Marketing Management Study Program with a GPA of 3.94.
"Disciplined graduates are graduates who have the fewest absences and no element of neglect, and obtain the highest GPA among those with the fewest absences during the study period," he explained.
The two graduates managed to complete the study period with a total score of 0 hours, permission 0 hours, and illness 0 hours.
