Polines Director Responds to Student Aspirations

Forum Chat Pintar (NgoPi) together with the Director of the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) took place on Thursday (11/11), attended by representatives from each Student Organization (Ormawa) and also general students. Taking place in the Polines Multi-Purpose Room (RSG), the event was held from 08.30-11.30 WIB. This event aims to convey student aspirations to the Director of Polines.

Fredy Catur as Student President, said that this friendship forum activity could be a forum for students to express their aspirations. He explained that long before the director election, he had thought about holding a forum with the director. "We want to know what the new director is like and what policies will be implemented," said Fredy.

Responding to the forum's invitation, Totok Prasetyo as Director of Polines for the 2021-2025 period said he was enthusiastic. In fact, he actually also has a similar work program, namely the NgoPi agenda. According to him, this forum can make students smarter in communicating. "Students can be open to expressing their aspirations," said Totok. He appreciated students who could think critically, by conveying aspirations and solutions, not just complaints. “Very good if chat "Smart like this, speaking based on correct data," said Totok.

However, this forum cannot voice all student aspirations, due to time constraints. Fredy added that for aspirations that have not been expressed during the forum, an attachment will be made which will be reviewed first. Furthermore, he considered that the good response from the director during the event was also an important point. "Aspirations were responded to well, we hope that in the future there will be audience come back," added Fredy. In line with Fredy, Totok also said that it was possible for a forum like this to be held again, even inviting students' parents. "This is an initial forum, later after aspirations are resolved other aspirations will develop," he said.

Responding to the continuation of the forum, Muhammad Fikry, representative of the Electrical Student Association (HME) said that this forum could increase synergy between directors from the Institution and students. According to him, the response given by the director was very good, so that students did not hesitate to express their opinions. "It's like having a casual chat," he said. Therefore, he hopes that forums like this can be held repeatedly in the future. "It really needs to be appreciated and held back," concluded Fikry.
