The Semarang State Polytechnic FKMPI Team has held a Routine Discussion event for the Semarang State Polytechnic FKMPI team internally. This event will be held online on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 08.00 WIB. Due to the Restrictions on the Enforcement of Community Activities (PPKM), this activity was carried out online through the Google Meeting platform.
This Routine Discussion is a Work Program from the Strategic Studies Division of the Semarang State Polytechnic FKMPI TEAM which was carried out as an internal development effort of the Semarang State Polytechnic FKMPI TEAM in critical thinking. Routine Discussions are held to increase knowledge and open insight and views on issues that are developing and how to deal with issues as students. So that in the future students are expected to be active and critical in dealing with issues.
This event was attended by all FKMPI TEAM of Semarang State Polytechnic in 2021/2022, with resource persons namely Nur Fajar Utami as staff of the Strategic Studies Division of the Semarang State Polytechnic FKMPI TEAM. The theme raised in the Routine Discussions is politics, while the issues discussed are "Dual Position Polemics for UI Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor for PT BRI"
This Routine Discussion activity begins with an opening by the Moderator who regulates the course of the event and then it is submitted to the resource person to provide an overview of the issues to be discussed and provide a clear path if there are pros and cons in the discussion between discussion participants. In this discussion consisting of participants pros and cons on the issue of Concurrent Positions by the UI Chancellor and the BRI Vice-Chancellor, if there is a dispute, apart from the resource persons, the Strategic Studies Division will provide an intermediary so that the discussion runs smoothly. In this event, the discussion participants were active in expressing their opinion in an orderly and conducive manner.
From the general description that has been presented by the sources, this case has occurred since 2019 but only emerged after the BEM UI case which dubbed President Jokowi as The King of Lip Service so that propagates to the case of dual office. And the President in Article 39 letter c of PP75/2021 states that concurrent rector positions in BUMN/BUMD or in private companies are prohibited from serving as directors. However, after the regulation was issued, UI Chancellor, Ari Kuncoro, even resigned.
The conclusions that can be drawn in the Routine Discussion are that we as students must think critically and must look at the issue from 2 perspectives, namely the pros and cons sides so that we determine the right middle ground. And in reading the news or issues circulating must be from clear sources.
