SEMARANG-Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) applies entrepreneurship to increase sales turnover of batik products, improve skills in planning to recruit new customers, and prepare financial reports. At first several representatives from Gesing Village learned to make batik in Pekalongan City.
Armed with the training and the enthusiasm of the participants, they then continued to practice independently. On March 9-14, 2020, he participated in the batik certification held by the Balatkop of Temanggung Regency. After attending the training and certification, they formed a batik group named "KUB Sekar Cantrik" which is located at Gesing Village, Kandangan District, Temanggung Regency and chaired by Mrs. Rifai.
The main livelihood of the village community is processing coffee agricultural products. However, in the village there are many other groups of craftsmen besides coffee, namely groups of food craftsmen made from bananas and cassava as basic ingredients, and groups of batik craftsmen. This is formed because not all people process coffee agricultural products. The purpose of forming a group for the community in the village is to increase family income apart from the coffee management business.
Because the production process still uses the design of stamped batik production equipment in the form of stamped tables, stamped pans (lenders) and stamped stoves that are owned and located in other batik groups which are about 5 km away, the process and production results cannot be maximized, said the Head of the Service Team to The Leading Community of the Marketing Study Program "Application of Entrepreneurship in the Sekar Cantrik Kub, Gesing Village, Kandangan Temanggung District" Drs. Sandi Agar, MM, accompanied by members Azizah, S., M.Kom., Sri Wahyuni, SE., MM., Makmun Riyanto, SE., Drs. M. Nahar, M.Pd.
Another obstacle, product marketing is still in the surrounding environment through exhibitions and through acquaintances, has not been able to compile reports on the cost of production and sales reports according to accounting standards. From the assistance efforts funded by Polines, the team and partners have succeeded in overcoming these problems. The number of stamped batik production increased by 10%, the average sales turnover of batik cloth increased by 10% per month, KUB Sekar Cantrik members were able to compile Cost of Production and sales reports using the Microsoft Excel application. In this assistance, the PkM Team, apart from providing practical material assistance, also provided assistance in the form of a stamp table, a stamped pan (lender) and a stamped stove.
