Another international collaboration has been realized by the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) with university partners abroad. Among them with a campus in Bangkok, Thailand. That is the visiting professor activity carried out by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhlisin, lecturer in civil engineering at Polines at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Bangkok Thailand.
This visiting professor activity will last for about one month. "This visiting professor is fully funded by the International Office and the Department of Civil Engineering KMUTT," said Prof. Mukhlisin at the KMUTT campus, Bangkok, Thailand, Tuesday (25/2). This activity is also a follow-up to the signing of the cooperation/MoU that was signed between the KMUTT and Polines in 2018.
The activities carried out during the visiting professor were giving lectures to around 60 students of the Civil Engineering Department of KMUTT in Fluid Mechanics for 2nd year students, Applied Hydrology for 4th year students. "Also workshops on potential exchange program collaboration between Polines and KMUTT," explained Polines' first professor.
In giving a lecture at KMUTT, Prof. M. Mukhlisin was accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Duangrudee Kositgittiwong as the supervisor of the course. He who also serves as Chair of the International Affairs Unit of Polines, during the Visiting Professor also held a meeting with Asst. Prof. Chawin Chntharasenawong Ph.D (Vice Dean of International Relations Faculty of Engineering KMUTT ), Assoc. Prof. Sutat Leelataviwat Ph.D (Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Warat Komgkitkul Ph.D (.Deputy Director of International Civil Engineering Program).
During the meeting, it was agreed to carry out more intensive cooperation, especially staff and student exchange programs, scholarship information for Polines students and lecturers who wish to continue their studies at KMUTT.
On another occasion on Monday (24/2) an MoU was also held between Polines and Taksina Business Administration Technological College, Thailand, represented by Ms. Puttachard Suphalucksana as one of the Directors and 2 staff from Taksina College. The two higher education institutions agreed to conduct staff exchanges and student exchanges through internships, credit transfers, and others. In 2020, it is planned that there will be visits from Taksina College staff to Polines and an exchange internship program between Polines and Taksina College students.
