RPL D3 Mechanical Engineering PT Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia (KUI)

In the framework of the Field Work Lecture intracurricular program, 48 students of the Mechanical Engineering D3 Study Program, Mechanical Engineering Department, Semarang State Polytechnic, accompanied by 3 lecturers, carried out an industrial visit to PT Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia (KUI), in the Jababeka Industrial Estate Cikarang, Bekasi, on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. KUI is a Komatsu company in Indonesia that produces heavy equipment components for the undercarriage or undercarriage of Komatsu Bulldozers and Hydraulic Excavators.

The group was received by Asep Kamaludin as Manager of the Takumi Training Center and accompanied by 2 alumni of the Semarang State Polytechnic who worked at the company, namely Herry Sunarya, an alumni of Mechanical Engineering Polines class of 1990 who currently serves as Assembly Production Manager, and Siswoyo GS, an alumnus of Electrical Engineering. batch 2004 as HR and General Affairs Supervisor.

In his remarks, Herry introduced several alumni who work at Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia, including Erwan Yulianto, an alumnus of Electrical Engineering class of 1986, as Executive Officer and Director at PT Komatsu Indonesia. Then Helmi Yusuf, alumni of Commerce Administration class of 1998 as Manager of Finance and Accounting, and Yanuar, alumni of Mechanical Engineering class of 2003 as Engineering Design staff. Herry stated that he was very impressed and happy to be able to receive his younger classmates and also his lecturers during college. On that occasion, the group was given an explanation in the room regarding the company profile and production flow process, and invited to enjoy a plant tour to see firsthand the production process and then ended with a question and answer session, exchange of souvenirs and a group photo. He also explained that PT Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia has established link and match cooperation with several vocational schools in Indonesia, one of which is Central Java Vocational School.

The head of the Polines group, Kunto Purbono, hopes that this program can be continued for Diploma Education with the Semarang State Polytechnic. And in his speech, he expressed his gratitude for the willingness of PT Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia to accept the visit. This visit is expected to provide students with an overview of the world of work and the heavy equipment manufacturing industry.
