Friday (11/15) D3-Informatics students at the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) won 2nd place in the 2019 National Level Competition for making ICT-based teaching materials (Basic) for the Augmented Reality category. This achievement started from the final project assignment for Advanced Graphic Design course which was led by Mr. Liliek Triyono, ST, M.Kom. namely making Augmented Reality-based learning media which is implemented in several high schools and is required to take part in the 2019 Batik Batik Competition.
The group for this final project consisted of Alfian Karim Fathur Rahman, Muyasarah Putri Kornela, Tedi Irawan, and Raditya Ari Pradana. This application raises material on Indonesian History which discusses historical heritage objects in the Pre-literate era in Indonesia.
The purpose of this application is to help teachers in delivering historical material so that it is no longer boring. From the student session, the application implementation is expected to be able to improve understanding of historical material, considering that history learning applications are still rarely found. “Usually, the color in history learning books uses black and white photos. Here we create historical materials with more interesting visualizations,” said Tedi Irawan.
The competition begins with registering through the official website batik.kemdikbud.go.id. After registering, participants are required to submit their work through the website. The selection of works is carried out by judges outside the pustekkom who are experts in their fields. Of the 513 works collected, 45 finalists were selected for four categories. The 45 finalists have the right to pass to Jakarta to present their work in front of a different jury from the initial selection jury.
Monday (4/11) the list of the top 10 finalists for the 2019 Batik Batik Contest for each category was announced via the web, pustekkom social media and whatsapp. Raditya Ari Pradana as the head of the group went to Jakarta for the final elimination round.
