Polines Give Assistance to Youth Organization “Setiabudi” RW 03, Sumurboto, Semarang

Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) again held community service activities as one of the Tri Dharma of higher education. This time the Polines Community Service Team (PKM) chaired by Dra. Embun Duriany S, MM held an activity in RW 03 Sumurboto Village, Banyumanik District, Semarang City which took place recently.

The PKM Polines team provided assistance to the “Setiabudi” Youth Organization, Sumurboto after previously being identified in the field which was a continuation and recommendation of the previous year's community service activities. PKM Polines Team Leader,

Community Service Activities from the Semarang State Polytechnic Team (POLINES) Dra. Embun Duriany S, MM said, the theme for community service this time was "Pom-Pom Creative Product Entrepreneurs to Support Realizing Thematic Villages (Business Villages) at the "Setiabudi" Youth Organization RW 03, Sumurboto Village, Banyumanik District, Semarang City". Based on the identification in the field, it can be formulated that some of the problems faced are the Karang Taruna Human Resources (HR) who have not maximally implemented Government programs and are not yet competent. In the form of empowerment to improve the welfare of the community; utilization of time with productive activities that can provide socio-economic impact, entrepreneurship skills for creative Pom-Pom products, innovation in realizing Thematic Villages (Business Villages) and taking advantage of broad market potential opportunities. "For this, community service activities are needed by carrying out debriefing, counseling, training, practice and mentoring," said Embun.

The output targets of this activity are: increasing competence in empowering local potential with creative activities in utilizing time with productive activities that can have social and economic impacts. In addition, increasing competence in realizing Thematic Villages (Business Villages) through Pom-Pom creative product entrepreneurs that have an economic value of 40% profit from the selling price. And the final output target, he said, is to increase competence in understanding aspects of economic value, marketing strategies by taking advantage of market opportunities.
