Polines Student Wins 2nd Place in the XIII Asean Skill Competition (ASC) Selection in 2019 - Mechanical Engineering CAD

Mechanical Engineering Student at Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) Hermansyah managed to become 2nd place in the National Selection Asean Skill Competition (ASC) XIII Year 2019 field Mechanical Engineering CAD. Organized at Binus University 20-22 August 2019 Jakarta by the Department of Manpower and Transmigration. National level winners will attend a training camp for the ASC competition in Singapore July 2020.

Asean Skill Competition (ASC) or Worldskills ASEAN is a skills competition between ASEAN countries which is held every 2 (two) years in even years. ASC XIII in Singapore will be held from 25 to 30 July 2020. The steps to go to Singapore require a regional selection process (selection), national selection (seleknas) and training concentration.

Materials for the CAD Mechanical Engineering competition with Autodesk Inventor software include 1 Mechanical Fabrication session (5 hours); 2 Mechanical Assembly sessions (5 hours); and 3 Reverse Engineering sessions (4 hours).

Dr.Ir.Suharto,M.Pd., as a companion lecturer said that there were 3 (three) Polines students who participated in the National Selection in Jakarta and one of them won 2nd place, namely Hermansyah. Participation in the ASC National Selection Committee is an important and beneficial experience for students and for Polines. Application software engineering in the field of mechanical engineering can contribute to increasing efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and competitiveness,” he said.
