Lempuyang Coffee Blend Industry, Coffee Innovation Created by POLINES Students

The PKM Entrepreneurship Team (PKM-K) Semarang State Polytechnic created a coffee innovation from the lempuyang plant which was named "Industry Lempuyang Coffee Blend". The head of the PKM-K in Team is Budi Santoso (Business Administration) under the assistant lecturer Iwan Budiyono SE, M. Si, Akt. and consists of 4 members, namely Etiek Apriliyani Mukharomah (Business Administration), Rhiyo Yudha Febriyano (Civil Engineering), Sumanto (Business Administration), and Elen Puspitasari (Business Administration).

The idea for this PKM originated from the large number of lempuyang plants in the Blora forest, precisely in the J Hole Hamlet, Ngampon Village, Jepon District, which were underutilized by the surrounding community. whereas the lempuyang plant has many benefits for the body, one of which is to increase appetite, rheumatism, whooping cough, asthma and so on (Muhlisin, 1999). Therefore, Budi Santoso as the chairman of PKM-K uses the plant to be combined with coffee. It also intends to create job opportunities for the people of Blora so that the unemployment rate in Blora is reduced. As for the coffee, it is obtained in the hamlet of Sirep Coffee, Kec Jambu, Semarang.

This Lempuyang Coffee Blend Industrial product is the first and only product on the market, sold at a price of IDR 3,200 per sachet with a net weight per sachet of 50 grams. This product is safe for consumption because it does not contain 3P (artificial sweeteners, preservatives, and artificial coloring). With these various benefits, it is hoped that this product will be liked by the people of Indonesia.
