The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo) held a socialization of the 2019 Digital Talent Scholarship program in the Multipurpose Room, Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) campus, Wednesday (29/5). The socialization activity was attended by 200 participants who came from graduates and vocational students in the ICT field from various regions in Central Java. The event was officially opened by the Deputy Director for Planning and Cooperation of Polines, Drs. Budi Prasetya, MSi.
In his remarks, he said this program was very useful in equipping students and graduates of SMK in the ICT field to face the industrial revolution 4.0. "Hopefully the material provided will provide the talents needed in the Industrial Revolution 4.0," he said.
Meanwhile, the socialization material was delivered directly by Prof. Dr. Drs. H. Henry Subiakto, SH, MA, Expert Staff to the Minister of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. In his presentation, in 2018, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics launched the same program to prepare 1,000 talents who master digital skills to support Indonesia's vision to become the largest digital economy country by 2030. Digital Talent Scholarship aimed at providing the talents needed in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
In 2019, the Ministry of Communication and Information opened registration for prospective recipients of 25,000 scholarships for the 2019 Digital Talent Scholarship training program. "The scholarships are aimed at improving the skills and competitiveness of Indonesian human resources in the field of information and communication technology," he explained.
Program participants will be trained intensively to master hard skills and soft skills according to specialization in the technical field Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet of Thingss, and Machine Learning as well as several other training themes.
This scholarship is managed by the Research and Human Resources Development Agency of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in collaboration with 31 leading universities in Indonesia, 23 Polytechnics and 4 global technology companies including AWS, Cisco, Google and Microsoft.
Polines is one of the partner universities appointed by the Ministry of Communication and Information to conduct training Digital Talent Scholarship for Vocational School Graduate Academy (VSGA) which is an intensive training scholarship program for SMK graduates who do not have a permanent job. This program also provides digital entrepreneurship materials and professional skill development for all participants.
For Polines, the Ministry of Communication and Information is responsible for carrying out training in 3 schemes, namely Junior Web Developer, Junior Mobile Programmer, and Junior Network Administrator. This program is free of charge. The program duration is 1 month, participants will receive a seminar kit and local transportation fee of Rp. 750.000,-
