The first team nicknamed Rajawali Sipondra, a specialist team in the balsa bridge competition from the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) won the 2019 NTU bridge design competition, in Singapore recently.
Rajawali Sipondra is a team formed by Wirawan Logi Nurrohman and Yuan Herdianto in 2018 at the balsa brige competition civil expo polines event in 2018.
Preparations for the 2019 NTU Bridge Design Competition have been maximally prepared by analyzing last year's TOR, the maturation of the bridge shape was carried out after the first and second TORs were released. The Head of Research and Development of Rajawali Sipondra, Wirawan Logi Nurrohman, led the development and research carried out 2 months before the competition, assisted by the Chief Executive of Construction and Analysis of Connections of Rajawali Sipondra, Yuan Herdianto. The development and research processes run smoothly as targeted. Many bridge models have been successfully made, but one bridge model has been chosen which has the strongest, lightest, most efficient construction, and has a good architecture.
Rajawali Sipondra's small team that departed was Rajawali Sipondra Alpha, but it was shortened to Rajawali Alpha. The Rajawali Alpha team was successful in testing the bridge, the efficiency of the bridge is above our target of 2000 points and our bridge is capable of more than 2200 points. When the presentation went quite smoothly, the jury and participants gave good appreciation. And Rajawali Alpha can donate 1st place in the polytechnic category and the winner in the most economical design category in the polytechnic category. We are proud to be Indonesian children.
Meanwhile, the second team with personnel from Yuli Kristen and Riki Mala Sari are students receiving Bidikmisi scholarships in the DIII Civil Engineering department at the Semarang State Polytechnic, besides that, Yuli Kristen has also won several achievements at the national level, both in Makassar and qualifying as a finalist " 14th Indonesian Bridge Competition (KJI), Jogja in the competition “Balsa Bridge Competition'' as a finalist, and others regarding the bridge design competition. And Riki Mala Sari got 1st place hope "Concrete Innovation Competition” in Kalimantan.
Our team was formed, led by Yuli Kristen and member Riki Mala Sari. With the team name YUKI GREAT INDONESIA, Yuki is a combination of our names Yuli and Riki. Which means that Yuki Team is expected to be able to bring Indonesia's name to a better place in the world.
Finally we registered for the competition and made passports for the requirements to Singapore. Then we designed the bridge on Tor with the SAP2000 version 14 application. After we found the best design, we tested the strength of the bridge four times. And I think the results are not optimal, so I designed again and tried again three times and the design that we use is the second design. With a weight that meets and a fairly large efficiency.
After that, we prepare presentations and practice presentations with Polines lecturers. Then create a mockup to support our presentation. And many foreign students appreciate our mockups. Team Yuki won 2nd place and 1st place for Most Popular Design
"And thank God we got the highest presentation score because we brought mockups as supporters and kebaya as Indonesian culture," he concluded.
