90th Youth Oath Day Ceremony at Polines Held solemnly

Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) held a flag ceremony in commemoration of the 90th Youth Pledge Day.

The event which took place at the Polines Directorate yard, Monday (29/10) was attended by hundreds of participants consisting of lecturers, education staff and Polines students and took place solemnly.

Acting as the supervisor of the ceremony was Ir. Supriyadi, MT (Director of Polines). Meanwhile, the members of the Polines Student Regiment (Menwa) were assigned to raise the red and white flag.

On the occasion of this flag ceremony, Ir. Supriyadi, MT (Director of Polines) reads a written speech from the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Imam Nahrawi. In his speech, the Minister of Youth and Sports said, we are all indebted to the youth leaders in 1928, who declared the Youth Pledge, so that they became youth pioneers to build awareness of Indonesian nationality as well as their commitment to maintain the unity and integrity of this country. We must emulate their national commitment to build the nation, unite Indonesia.

This 90th youth oath day, the theme is "Build Youth to Unite Indonesia". This theme was taken on the basis of the importance of youth development to give birth to a young generation who believe and fear God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, intelligent, creative, innovative, independent, democratic, responsible, competitive, and have leadership, entrepreneurial, and pioneering and nationalism based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

The rapid development of information technology is like two blades. On the one hand it guarantees the speed of information so that it allows our youth to increase knowledge capacity in developing resources and competitiveness, but on the other hand this development has a negative impact on destructive information ranging from hoaxes, hate speech, pornography, drugs, promiscuity to radicalism and terrorism also enter easily if young people cannot stem it with the filter of knowledge and maturity in the nation and state.

At the end of his speech, the Minister of Youth and Sports said, if the youth of the previous generation were able to get out of the trap of primordial attitudes of ethnicity, religion, race and culture, towards national unity and integrity, the task of today's youth is to be able to open their eyes to outside the boundaries of the present world's walls. for the sake of a better future for the world.
