SEMARANG, Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) has helped Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in various cities in Central Java.
"In general, there are MSMEs that produce galvalume roof tiles in some production processes that are still done manually, not many use technology in the process, resulting in low quality and quantity, and the selling price is unable to compete. In fact, this can have an impact on the income of MSMEs and help the district government's income". Said the Head of the 2018 Community Partnership Program (PKM) Community Service Team, Drs. Ahmad Supriyadi, MT. According to him, in Grobogan so far, MSME actors in running their business are still using simple technology, even though with the addition of a touch of technology, MSMEs can develop to increase competitiveness and have a positive impact on their profits and economy.
Accompanied by two members of the community service team, Sri Harmanto and Moch Abdul Kodir who are also Polines lecturers, Ahmad Supriyadi said his team had trained two MSMEs making galvalume tiles in Grobogan. The two MSMEs are "UD KING ROOF" which produces galvalume roof tiles, while "UD KARYA BESI" is the provider of roof tiles and marketers. Their marketing has reached Solo, Semarang, Yogyakarta and Jakarta.
According to him, through this PKM community service, his party provided the assistance of a sand mixer with iron-oxide to improve the mixing process which had been using the manual method, with this machine the results of the mixture were homogeneous, the time was fast and the capacity was much larger. also provides financial management and work safety training for employees and employers. The positive impact of this PKM program is that sales turnover and product selling prices in the two SMEs have increased significantly.
It was also added that the Polines and the Center for Research and Community Service (P3M) Polines are ready to help MSMEs in other cities. Director of Polines Ir Supriyadi MT and Head of P3M Dr. Ir. Tejo Mulyono MT support and give very high appreciation to the PKM service team funded by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Polines leadership hopes that the results can help Central Java SMEs increase their competitiveness and their businesses develop significantly with the help of a touch of technology delivered by the Polines service team.
