As a realization of the cooperation agreement between the Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) and the Mentawai Islands Regency Government, West Sumatra, the Cooperation Program Independent Examination Written Test was held at the PDD campus of the Mentawai State Community Academy (AKNM), Tuesday, July 31 2018.
The written test was attended by 52 participants who came from high school / vocational high school graduates in the Mentawai Islands region.
The Head of the Education and Culture Office of the Mentawai Islands Regency, Sermon Sakerebau, S.Sos had the opportunity to review the implementation of the test. Participating in this review a team from Polines consisting of Ir. Endro Wasito, M.Kom (Deputy Director for Academic Affairs), Dadi, ST, M.Eng (Chairman of SPMB Polines 2018), Joko Usito, S.Kom, M.Kom (Secretary of UPT ICT), and Atman Risnendi (Staff of UPT ICT ) .
Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Polines, Ir. Endro Wasito, M.Kom, after reviewing the test, explained that this collaboration program will select each of the 5 best written test participants to study at D3 Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Applied Road and Bridge Design. "The selection of this study program is in accordance with the needs expected by the Regency Government. Mentawai Islands," he said. The curriculum will be designed specifically with competencies in accordance with the needs of the Mentawai Islands region.
In a meeting at the Polines campus some time ago related to inter-institutional cooperation, Yudas Sabaggalet (Regent of the Mentawai Islands) who was present at the time, explained the potential wealth of the Mentawai Islands which has not been fully worked on, one of which is due to limited Human Resources (HR). ). That's why the Regent of the Mentawai Islands initiated a collaboration in terms of improving the quality of human resources with Polines. "We hope to establish cooperation with Polines so that the quality of our human resources will increase. They can continue their studies in study programs that are related to the potential of our area. So that after they are finished they can go home and build Mentawai,” said Yudas Sabaggalet.
