The PKM Team is Back at Work in Making Traffic Prototypes with Adaptive Timing

TRAFFIC PROTOTYPE WITH ADAPTIVE TIMELINESS is a prototype that provides a solution to traffic problems. This prototype will later read video footage from a 360 camera that is placed in the middle of the diagonal between four traffic light intersections.

A mini PC is placed in the area which will process the data using an algorithm OpenCV whose output will send the time based on the number of vehicles queuing up to the Arduino uno which is installed with the LED counter. It is hoped that this prototype can be implemented directly on the road so that all algorithm deficiencies OpenCV and supporting devices can be repaired immediately. The positive impact will certainly be seen clearly when the dynamic queue can be timed on the LED counter. Unlike the current traffic timing system in urban areas, which is static, thus contributing factors to traffic jams on the highway.

This new innovation is the work of the Polines Student Creativity Program Team led by Hardiyan Kesuma Ramadhan. It is hoped that the student's ideas can be applied directly and benefit the community.
