Ahead of the Asian Games, Polines Students Create New Innovations

Semarang – Learning from experience, Semarang State Polytechnic Students (POLINES) tried to flashback by looking back at how the nation's struggle in fighting for its culture was almost claimed by other countries. Moreover, over time, Indonesian culture is increasingly being eroded by things that smell like modernization.

Departing from this, the Polines Team, chaired by Rizki Ulfiani (Accounting'16), and consisting of Putu Fahlevi Risang Dewangkara (Mechanical Engineering'16), and Regita Antisya (Accounting'17) created a new innovation with kimono media which was innovated using batik motifs that describe local historical tours and Javanese script.

According to Rizki, with the innovation of kimono which is packaged according to the needs of teenagers, it can increase the sense of love for the homeland, especially awareness of the importance of maintaining Indonesian culture. Although Batik has been recognized as Indonesia's cultural heritage, it is possible that batik will remain in history if no one preserves it. Moreover, the Javanese script which over time is almost unknown to teenagers.

This written batik is designed with a blend of Javanese script with historical tours in Central Java, such as Tugu Muda, Lawang Sewu, and Borobudur.

We hope that this product will be of interest to the public, especially the youth. Because the future of a country rests on the shoulders of its youth. If young people have started to be interested in local culture, of course Indonesian culture will not be displaced by the times.
