The Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) held an induction activity for the management of Polines, especially the new management for the 2018-2022 period, on April 30 to May 1 2018. The activity with the theme Improving Managerial Capability through Induction was attended by the new Deputy Directors for the 2018-2022 period. , Heads and Secretaries of Departments, Heads of Sections and Heads of Subdivisions, as well as Heads and Secretaries of Center/Unit/Unit within Polines.
Held at Griya Persada Bandungan, presenting as presenters were the Director of Polines Ir Supriyadi MT, former Deputy Directors (period 2014 – 2018) who were accompanied by officials or former related officials, and the Head of the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI) of Polines. In his remarks, Supriyadi said that the induction aims to equalize the perception, enthusiasm and work pattern of the management, especially the new management, in carrying out the duties of managing Polines.
In the first session, the Director briefly explained the Strategic Plan (Renstra) of Polines 2015 – 2019 (Regulation of the Director of Polines Number 7 of 2017 concerning Amendments to Regulation of the Director of Polines Number 1238/PL4.7.2/SK/2015 concerning Strategic Plan of the State Polytechnic of Semarang Year 2015- 2019) and its relation to the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education 2015 – 2019. In the session moderated by Drs Royswan Isgandhi MPd (coordinator of the Director's Expert Staff), Supriyadi also explained an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges faced by Polines in the present and the future as well as strategies to deal with it, the 2015-2029 Polines development framework, as well as the leadership's policy direction.
In the second session (afternoon) there was a presentation on the field of student affairs and alumni. Appearing as a speaker was Junaidi ST MT representing Rustono SE MM (former Deputy Director of Student Affairs) who was accompanied by Suharno SH (Head of Sub Division of Academic and Student Affairs) with Dr. Anwar Sukito Ardjo MKom (member of the Director's Expert Staff) as moderator. Junaidi explained the main tasks and functions of the student affairs sector in accordance with the Polines Senate Decree Number 0207/PL4.5/SK/2015 concerning the Student Development of the Semarang State Polytechnic. In addition, Junaidi also explained about performance planning and the direction of student and alumni development, and introduced the Student Rating Management Information System (SIMKATMAWA) from the Directorate General of Learning and Student Affairs of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Meanwhile, Suharno explained the strategy for implementing the student affairs sector as well as the performance and achievements of students in the competitions that were followed in 2017.
The next session was a presentation on the academic field with speakers Akhmad Jamaah ST MEng (former Deputy Director for Academic Affairs), Drs Royswan Isgandhi MPd (former Head of the Center for Quality Assurance of Education) and Trinoto Widodo SE MM (Head of Academic, Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation) with a moderator Sindung Hadwi Widi Sasono BSEE MEngSc (member of the Director's Expert Staff). Akhmad Jamaah explained the main tasks and functions of the academic field in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations; strategic goals and performance indicators in the academic field; performance achievements in the last 4 years; and problems faced. Meanwhile, Royswan Isgandhi explained the correlation between the National Standards for Higher Education (SN Dikti) and the ISO 9001 Quality Management System which is owned and implemented in Polines.
The fourth session (afternoon) contains an explanation of the areas of planning and cooperation. The presentation was delivered by Drs Kunto Purbono MSc (former Deputy Director for Planning and Cooperation), Sri Yati SE MSi (Head of Planning Sub Division) and Ir Wahjoedi MT (Head of Industrial Relations Unit), with Sarono Widodo ST MKom (Secretary of Industrial Relations Unit) as moderator. Kunto Purbono explained the main tasks and functions of planning and cooperation, plans and performance achievements, as well as the main problems faced. Wahjoedi conveyed a number of collaborations that have been established so far, especially cooperation with industry. Meanwhile, Sri Yati explained the annual schedule of activities related to planning activities at Polines starting in December of the previous year (T-1), during the current year (T0), until January of the following year (T+1).
The fifth session was held after dinner. In this session, an explanation of the field of internal control by the Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI) was presented. Appearing as presenters were Rudi Handoyono SE MSi (Head of SPI) and Siti Mutmainah SE MSi (Secretary of SPI) with Ir Mochammad Tri Rochadi MT (SPI member) as moderator. Rudi Handoyono explained the duties and functions of SPI in accordance with applicable laws and regulations; work program in 2018, as well as the main problems faced and solutions implemented.
In the sixth session which was held on the second day, presentations on general and financial fields were presented. Appearing as presenters were Muhammad Noor Ardiansah SE MSi Akt (former Deputy Director of General Affairs and Finance) and Supanto SE MSi (Head of Sub Division of Finance) who represented Purnomo SH MSi (Head of General and Finance Division) with Sri Yati SE MSi as moderator. Muhammad Noor Ardiansah explained about the duties and functions of the field; communication and coordination; strategic plans and performance achievements; main problems and solutions implemented; as well as the sustainability of the implementation of tasks in the general and financial fields. Meanwhile, Supanto explained the scope of work of the General and Finance Division which includes the Administrative Sub-Section, the Personnel Sub-Section, and the Finance Sub-Section. More specifically, Supanto conveyed about the strategy and implementation of the Bureaucratic Reform (RB) program at Polines both in the macro and micro framework, as well as the implementation of financial services.
In addition to being attended by the Director and Deputy Directors, this induction was attended by almost all current management levels of Polines, namely the Chair and Secretary of the Civil Engineering Department, the Chair and Secretary of the Mechanical Engineering Department, the Secretary of the Electrical Engineering Department, the Chair and Secretary of the Accounting Department, as well as the Chair and Secretary Department of Business Administration. Also the Head of the Academic Planning and Cooperation Division for Student Affairs, the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Sub-section, the Head of the Planning Sub-section, and the Head of the Finance Sub-division. Also present were the Chair and Secretary of the Academic Senate, Head and Secretary of the Center for Learning Development, Head and Secretary of the Center for Quality Assurance of Education, Head and Secretary of the Center for Research and Community Service. From the ranks of the technical implementing units, the Head and Secretary of the UPT Library were present, the Head and Secretary of the UPT Language, the Head and Secretary of the UPT ICT, the Head and Secretary of the UPT PPSP, the Head and Secretary of UHI, and the Head and Secretary of the UUI. In addition, the Chairperson of the LSP, the Chair and Members of the SPI and members of the Director's Expert Staff were also present. All participants seemed enthusiastic in participating in the activities from the opening until the event was officially closed by the Director.
On the sidelines of the event, to improve the fitness of the participants, the committee held morning exercises. Gymnastics was held on the second day at 06.00 – 07.00 am with retired instructors from KODAM IV/Diponegoro. [man].
