Initiating Cooperation, Mentawai Regent Visits Polines

Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) received a visit from the Regent of the Mentawai Islands, Yudas Sabaggalet and his entourage, Thursday (5/4). The visit was received directly by the Director of Polines, Ir. Supriyadi, MT in the Director's Meeting Room, Tembalang Campus. Participating in receiving the visit were the Deputy Director and the leadership of the Polines.

In the meeting, the Regent of the Mentawai Islands explained the potential wealth of the Mentawai which has not been fully exploited, one of which is due to limited Human Resources (HR). That's why the Regent of the Mentawai Islands initiated a collaboration in terms of improving the quality of human resources with Polines.

"We hope to establish cooperation with Polines so that the quality of our human resources will increase. They can continue their studies in study programs that are related to the potential of our area. So that after they are finished they can go home and build Mentawai,” said Yudas Sabaggalet.

Director of Polines, Ir. Supriyadi, MT conveyed that he welcomed the cooperation plan. He said Polines has a commitment to participate in improving human resources throughout Indonesia. "We are open to cooperation with various parties," he said. So that the role of Polines can make a real contribution to the progress of the Indonesian nation.

In this pilot collaboration, it was explored to hold special classes at Polines with a choice of Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering study programs. This special class curriculum will be specifically designed with competencies in accordance with the needs of the Mentawai Islands region.
