Semarang State Polytechnic (Polines) students have once again achieved a proud achievement. Team “Gartiq Shoes” consisting of Christephin Aprilia Pramudyta (Financial Analyst 3A) and Elvin Oktamaditya Almajid (Islamic Banking 3A) managed to win the title of The Best Presentation Instagram Business Plan Competition in The Biggest Business Event 2018 which was held on the Airlangga University (Unair) campus, Surabaya, yet this long.
The event which is also known as LABIRIN 2018 (National Scale Indonesian Youth Business Competition) consists of 2 series of major events, namely the Business Plan Competition and the Labyrinth Summit with the theme Sociopreneur for a better future. The event, which was initiated by PT Unair's HIPMI, invites young people to compete to produce a business idea that can have a social impact on the environment.
Gartiq Shoes itself is a business of 2 Polines Accounting students who sell women's shoes (flatshoes) with the main material of written batik so that they have their own characteristics with batik motifs typical of the Semarang city area which has the aim of preserving Indonesian culture with production from our own hands. Even though it is made from written batik, which is usually considered by most people, “written batik is expensive.” We changed that mindset by creating handmade batik shoes at an affordable price, said Christephin. The prices offered start from Rp. 95,000 to Rp. 300,000. Shoe products made with good quality and limited stock.
During the presentation, according to Christephin, the jury commented that his shoes deserve to be sold at a premium because in terms of quality, appearance and packaging, they can compete with shoes sold in stores in general.
