SEMARANG<\/strong> \u2013 Politeknik Negeri Semarang (Polines) has again achieved significant academic success with the addition of two professors from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) of the Polines Campus in Tembalang, Semarang City, on Thursday (October 9, 2025) and led by Polines Director Dr. Garup Lambang Goro, ST, MT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two professors who were inaugurated were Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwiana Hendrawati, ST, MT, Professor in the field of expertise in Instrumentation and Control, and Prof. Ir. Yusuf Dewantoro Herlambang, ST, MT, Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng, Professor in the field of expertise in Alternative Energy Generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, the Director of Polines expressed his pride in the achievements of the two lecturers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of vocational education and applied research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"The presence of these two professors further strengthens Polines' academic and research capacity, particularly in the field of mechanical engineering, which plays a strategic role in the development of the national industry," he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her professorial speech entitled \u201cSolar Energy with Intelligent Control and Digital Instrumentation as a Driver of Green Industry and Energy Independence Society,\u201d Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwiana Hendrawati, ST, MT highlighted the importance of increasing solar energy efficiency. In her scientific oration entitled \u201cSolar Energy with Intelligent Control and Digital Instrumentation as a Driver of Green Industry and Energy Independence Society,\u201d she emphasized that the use of solar energy is key to realizing green industry and community energy independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the past five years, Prof. Dwiana has focused on research into solar power generation (PLTS) systems, particularly addressing issues of efficiency and power intermittency due to changing weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Our challenge was to design a system that remained stable despite changes in light intensity. We developed anomaly detection technology that can automatically adjust the system," he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Prof. Ir. Yusuf Dewantoro Herlambang, ST, MT, Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng presented his research entitled "Hydrogen for Future Mobility<\/em>: Hydrogen Fuel Cell Automotive Innovation and Hydrogen Charging Infrastructure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that hydrogen technology will be the key to the future of global transportation energy because it can produce energy without emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Although electric vehicles are considered environmentally friendly, much of their electricity still comes from coal-fired power plants. With hydrogen technology, water is split into H\u2082 and O\u2082. The hydrogen is then stored and converted into electrical energy through a fuel cell. The process produces no emissions, thus truly promoting the creation of clean energy," he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this research, he also explained the importance of developing hydrogen charging infrastructure and collaboration between universities, the government, and the automotive industry so that this technology can be implemented in Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
